About Us

Since January 1931 the New Zealand Grassland Association Inc has provided a vital forum through which those who are interested in the leading edge of pastoral farming can gain the latest information on:

  • Recent findings in pastoral research and technology
  • Best practice in pastoral farming
  • Farming trends and opportunities.
  • Agricultural issues and developments.

From their involvement in the Association members gain knowledge, confidence and valuable networking opportunities.  For many, presenting a paper in front of a discerning and knowledgeable audience at our annual conference is a new and rewarding experience. Even for more seasoned researchers, having paper published in the Association’s highly-regarded proceedings is a sought-after professional event. And for farmers and scientists alike, NZGA offers a rare opportunity to measure theory against experience to the benefit of both. Currently, our members are scientists, farmers, extension consultants and those working for agribusinesses.

Although most are based in New Zealand - one of the world’s most efficient and innovative farming nations - we have members on all continents, and new prospects from overseas are welcome. Members can log in to access 75 years of research on-line and to benefit from discounted prices on publications. Non-members can join on-line or complete and post our membership form.
