Visa requirements for entry into New ZealandThe New Zealand Government accepts the free international circulation of scientists but you will appreciate that you must comply with the requirements of the New Zealand Immigration Service (NZIS). Details of these requirements and visa application forms can be obtained from New Zealand diplomatic and consular offices or NZIS offices in New Zealand or the NZIS website: www.immigration.govt.nz You may be denied entry to New Zealand on arrival if you do not comply with these requirements. If this should happen, the Organising Committee cannot assist you in any way. Citizens of some countries must obtain a Visitor’s Visa. If you require a Visitor’s Visa, we recommend that you apply for it at least three months before the date of your departure for New Zealand.
Remain in New Zealand only for the time granted on your arrival. Please note that all food, plant and animal material must be declared on arrival and will be checked by officials. This is to ensure that New Zealand remains free of pests and diseases which could jeopardize its horticultural and agricultural industries.
