Symposium Venue
Christchurch and New ZealandChristchurch – the Garden City – is the third largest urban area in New Zealand and largest city in the South Island. As an uncrowded city of 350,000 people it is a centre of arts, learning, and commerce situated within a days drive of the beautiful Southern Alps. Christchurch has its own convenient international airport and excellent air linkages to other cities in New Zealand. Find out more about Christchurch at http://www.christchurch.org.nz/ ![]() ![]()
Christchurch in March is generally pleasant, with mild temperatures and settled weather with swimming at beaches, sailing in the nearby harbours, and cricket and tennis in the local parks. Daytime maximum temperatures average 20oC (68oF) with average minimum night temperatures of 10oC (50oF). However, temperatures can be variable from day to day, so a good range in clothing is recommended particularly for the field trip. New Zealand is famous for its farming based industries as well as its spectacularly beautiful landscape of mountains, grasslands, coastal areas, fiords and forests. It is a world class sporting nation and home to some of the worlds friendliest and innovative people. Before or after the symposium is an excellent time to have a vacation in New Zealand.
