The New Zealand Grassland Association gives its members:

• The latest information on scientific progress and production advances.
• The opportunity to meet colleagues at New Zealand Grassland Association Annual Conferences.
• Regular newsletters by mail and e-zine
• Occasional special technical publications
• On-line access to 75 years’ of technical papers published by the Association (also available on CD-ROM at a special members-only price.

The Association also provides financial support for activities involving pastoral farming such as the Ryegrass Endophyte Symposium, which brought together leading specialists to discuss various issues relating to endophyte in New Zealand's ryegrass pastures.

The NZGA's Annual Conference alternates between the North and South Islands. Members receive the Conference Proceedings which contain technical and practical information on grassland farming, and also regular newsletters and other occasional publications, usually at a lower price than non-members.
